iPhone 2G on At&t prepaid service

I have a 2g iphone on att&t prepaid service...unlocked with redsn0w v.8. When I go to settings to activate call forwarding and place the forwarding number in..it won't save, the call forwarding button will automatically go back to "off". I've called at&t to activate my call forwarding and supposedly it is activated, but this is still happening. What can I do? Thanks!
