iphone 2g passcode disabled

Hi I just bought an iphone with a broken screen, repaired screen and it has a passcode lock on it. The person i bought it from got it from his brother in law who claims he cant remember the passcode. he also does not have an itunes account anymore. i have no idea what to do I have tried so many codes that the phone is disabled for a hour at a time now. I read that eventually it will be disabled for good if i keep trying the wrong passcodes. Please help me i have spent a lot of money buying the iphone and the new screen and paying someone to put it together.

Put it in dfu mode and restore it thru iTunes.

i tried puttingit in dfu mode and it doesnt work. i have tried along with three other people.
