Hi,

At the end of october of 2008 I had my iPhone 2G replaced for another iPhone 2G because of a small problem with the WiFi. Immediately after I got the replacement I pwned it because I started using a company different than AT&T.

My experience with the iPhone 2G has been very positive and I like it a lot. The only setback that I find is the short battery life. I don't know if it is due to the pwning but if I start using the iPod or the dictionary application I downloaded the other day battery life can drain super fast.

All your help is appreciated with this matter, very kind regards,

igmolinav.

P.S. Should i have posted this matter somewhere else please let me know.

It is unlikely to be the Pwnage process that is causing it, there's no history of that happening as far as I know. I have a Pwned 2G and battery life is fine.

Maybe it just has a battery that needs replacement, maybe you've got an app that is running in the background and using power.

Hi guys,

Thank you for your messages : ) !!!

Not that i was aware of any app. like ssh. If so, how could I turn it off ??

how could i go about a battery replacement, however, this iPhone is less than a year old.

Very kind regards,

igmolinav.

Apple battery replacement program:
http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/battery/

However, before spending the money, I'd suggest that you restore the phone to stock 2.2.1 just to see if you still have the problem, see if the iPod still drains the battery at the same speed. If it doesn't then you know there's something else draining the battery on the jailbroken phone.

BTW you haven't said how quickly it drains.

There's an app called BossPrefs that you can install on your iPhone that lets you toggle on and off services. It was in Cydia or Installer.

Hi,

Thank you for your messages : ) !!!

If I use the phone non-stopping, the battery is unfortunately gone in between one and half and two hours.

My iPhone version is still 2.2.1 About installing "Installer" and/or "Cydia" to use BossPrefs, I would be a bit afraid. I have heard that Installer and/or Cydia can really mess up your phone. In my case I used the pwn tool for my iPhone based on the fact that people recommended it if your firm wasn't AT&T.

Very kind regards,

Ignacio.
