Hi, a friend haves a 1st Generation iPhone (iphone 2g?) and he wants to know if he can upgrade the 3.0OS and he wants to jailbreak it.

I've never used a 1st gen iPhone so basically i dont know anything
-Can it run the 3.0 OS!? if yes then were do i download the firmware!?
-What should i use to jailbreak it on 3.0 OS?!?
---Redsnow !?

what if he wants to jailbreak on 2.2.1 os!? what program to jailbreak!?

THANKS

To upgrade to 3.0, simple attach the iPhone to a Computer running iTunes, have it sync, then click on upgrade.

As for jailbreaking.... it is not worth it, at least, not yet.

why!?, are you talking in general or just for the iPhone 2G!?

Cause i have jailbroken my 3G 6 times, my bro's 3G like 3-4 and i also jailbreak my 3GS ! and it is worth it!!

In my opinion it's worth it, to be able to customise the phone how I want.

It's very simple on 3.0, after upgrading with iTunes, run RedSn0w and you'll be done. iTunes will back up the phone before it upgrades, so after RedSn0w you can restore your contacts, messages etc.
