Well, I currently have an 8GB iPhone 2G that was purchased back in June of '06 that's seen better days. The metal backing is really scratched up with a couple dings here and there. Also, the black antenna cover on the bottom never will stay on the phone; not even with super-glue! So, I was thinking of purchasing a replacement case/casing/housing/body from eBay (or any other place) to make my iPhone look nice again. I found a bunch of them from sellers in Australia. I was wondering what one would be best to purchase and if it would be the same quality part as my current casing. Here's the one I'm really interested in:

Here's another one:

Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks!

... snips ....

Thanks!

Honestly, go to Apple and pay the $199. The 1st Gen iPhone is not something you might want to put some cheap casing on.

It may hurt, but I'd rather let Apple deal with the fixing. In any case they mess it up, they can give you a new one. Where as if you mess it up, it's up to you.
