I installed the 3.0 beta and am only having one major problem - I cannot type in the body field of any email from the Mail app. I can type in the subject field, etc., but when I tap on the body to compose the body of the email, there is no blinking cursor and, although the keyboard remains and takes presses, there are no letters. In addition, when I hit send, the message composition screen goes away, but nothing is ever sent.

The strange thing is that mail composition sheets from other apps (like Photos) work and send mail fine. Any ideas? I have Gmail and Mobile Me accounts both set up.

Would love some help if anyone has seen and / or solved this.

Also, this problem occured when I did a update from backup AND when I set the iPhone up as a new device.

I see at the bottom of your post you said it happens with a backup, and without one..

It messed up for me from a backup, but was fine as a new phone.. Weird. Just submit it to Apple.. Thats what happens when you install beta firmware. :D

Had no problems on any of my 5 email accounts. I did set up as a new phone when installing beta 3 and then just synced my contacts and apps.

I'm having the exact same issue. I installed 3.0 beta then added my iPhone as a new device. I haven't found a way around it - I can't even copy/paste.

I did notice that I can send a contact and THEN type in the body of an e-mail.

I figured out how to fix it. Apparently the "Load Remote Images" needs to be "ON", otherwise you cannot type in the body of an e-mail.
