Hi all, Mac noob here.

I know this is probably a dumb question but here goes...

I have an unlocked 3.0 iPhone. This was unlocked on an XP machine.

I have just got a brand new Macbook Pro - naturally this has just completed an update to iTunes 8.2 (23).

I have the fear that it will somehow lock when I transfer everything over to the Macbook - please tell me I am being paranoid!!

I am emigrating next week and really do need the phone to remain unlocked!

Thanks for any assistance in advance. Apologies if posted in wrong area.

I don't think it matter if you've unlock your iPhone on xp or osx. If you are transferring the backups from XP to your Mac then it shouldn't lock you iPhone. But if you restore to factory setting then it will need to be JB and unlock again.

First of all, you shouldn't hi-jack someone's thread. Second, your question can be answered in this forum by using the search button or using google.
