Ok, so im the guy who decided to say wtf and try to update my jailbroken (not unlocked) iphone 3GS 3.0 to the new firmware version 3.1.0... the update went fine, but of course once finished, no more cydia or cydia apps...
So, i do prefer purplera1n to jailbreak, and ran it normally on my 3.1.0 iphone / imac intel...
my iphone is showing georgehotz leaning on iphone (screen) with no progress... hmmm... i am going to unplug and try to restore to backup...
let me know if anyone has successfully used purplera1n to jailbreak 3.1.0
or if you used something els like redsn0w...
THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR JAILBREAKING, NOT UNLOCKING...
PS: saurik is going to release a patch later that may allow people to update without re-jailbreaking or something...
UPDATE: GEOHOT has stated purplera1n is not compatable with 3.1.0, and he doesnt know why... via twitter..
geohot3.0.1 isn't supported by ra1n, idk why. i recommend redsn0w. next geohot tool will be for ipt3+ra1nydayless 3GSes
