Hello,

First and foremost, I'll confess that I know this issue has arisen dozens of times within these forums, and I apologise in advance for bringing it up again; however, I have spent the whole day reading through such threads to no avail.

I have recently bought a 3G with the 1015 recovery loop issue, and am determined to fix it and see it running. At this moment in time, I'm currently unaware of the firmware the phone was running nor whether it was jailbroken (I'm assuming it was jailbroken as the issue isn't resolved when I try and restore the phone to the latest firmware). If I do find out such details, I will obviously inform you all.

As mentioned, I have spent a day attempting what seems to be pretty much everything; however, I'm begininning to run out of ideas!

Here's a couple of things I've attempted:

1) Enter DFU mode - Doesn't seem to be working at all. Have tried several different combinations including holding the power button for 3 seconds, then both the power and home buttons for 10 seconds and then just the home button for a further 10-30 seconds. Have heard that this should be always be possible to perform, so therefore I'm totally perplexed on this issue.

2) Using software such as redsn0w, tinyumbrella and sn0wbreeze to "kick" the phone out of the recovery loop - apart from redsn0w which requires the phone to be in DFU mode initially, the other 2 programs will attempt to get the phone out of the loop, but fail - It will restart, but return to the itunes and usb icon.

What I'm hoping for is that any of you can offer me any advise on what to attempt or things I may have missed - any help would be much appreciated!

I also realise that it could be the case (and hopefully not) that this may be down to a hardware issue.

Sorry about the length of the post, and thanks in advance.
