Hi,

Iv been looking for a while now and have found some interesting threads, but nothing that explains what i need answered. I have a new 3G OTB 2.2.1 with BB 02.30.03. I have requested Optus unlock it (i know silly me paying for it, just wanted it done and dusted with), so i am just waiting the few days til that happens. After which i am left with the jailbreak, which i am cumfortable in doing. The only issue being, there is a tut for jailbreaking without unlocking, and a tut for jailbreaking with unlock required. My question is, if i jailbreak without unlock, will it spoil my legit unlock (or worse, my phone)??
any help is appreciated,

thanks

Thankyou for your promt reply and for your help. just to confirm, yes it will be an official unlock. So by the tuts, i will need to get the iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw file, correct??

thanks

m

How much did you pay for the unlock?

Does this mean you can do anything on iTunes without it "locking" it?

Well I don't know what you mean by "tuts" but, in order to jailbreak it, you can just update the iPhone in iTunes to 2.2.1, and then download and run QuickPwn from here. It is fairly simple. :)

By Tuts, i mean tutorials, and thankyou for your reply.

Hi, I purchased the phone from the apple store in Sydney on an optus prepaid plan for ALOT of money, then to get the phone unlocked by Optus, i had to top up the credit with $120 prepaid card, and then request an unlock. Thats it. I still get to use the $120 credit, and after that is all used up, i can put my Telstra sim in there.
