iPhone 3G 2.2 Activation Help!

Hello, can quickpwn activate the iPhone 3G?? I mean without using iTunes... Is this possible?

Its the iPhone 3G officially unlocked in Hong Kong... There are 3rd party retailers selling them without the need for contract.... but I need to update it to 2.2... But I'm afraid of getting stuck on the activation screen where there is only emergency call as function :S

Hope you are right and that quickpwn can activate the iPhone 3G for me...

when you run quickpwn it will ask you if you are using an official carrier or not and if you aren't then click no and quickpwn will hacktivate the phone.

But if you are using an unlocked phone then you should just be able insert any sim card into the phone and it will accept it.

If it's officially unlocked then you can activate it with any sim card. You don't need quickpwn to activate the 3G.

uh, what do you mean? I know for a fact that you need cydia to install yellosn0w, but cydia is only accessible once jailbroken and you need to access the springboard... But how are you going to use cydia and yellowsn0w if you are stuck on the activation screen? by wanting to activate the iPhone 3G, I'm more precisely talking about the hacktivation...

Wrong. You iPhone can be activated through using quickpwn. activating and unlocking are two separate things. Once quickpwn is ran your phone will be activated even without a sim card. Your phone is already unlocked so I don't even think you need to jailbreak it. Have you tried just inserting your sim card and see if it works. Because if it is truly unlocked by apple it will accept any sim card with no question. But if it doesn't accept any sim card, then you were lied to and it isn't really unlocked by apple, and you will have to jailbreak/download yellowsn0w to use it.
