iPhone 3G Acting Up Recently

So my phone has been doing some weird things lately:
-Messages stop sending halfway through
-My phone wouldnt pick up a 3G connection with the icon showing (couldnt receive data - safari / twitterfon werent working.) Some error about APN.
-Now today my mail wont update, the thing just keeps spinning on 3G and edge.

Anyone have any answers as to why / what I can do to fix this? I would rather not restore due to the fact that Im jailbroken and dont want to go through the process of reinstalling what Ive got. Honestly im more concerned about the mail not updating and what to do to fix that issue.

I'm having the same damn problem, but I think I figured out how to fix it.
1- get istats, run the app free up some space
2- reset network settings
3- then your good to go

If that doesn't work then restore your iPhone to as a new iPhone.

If you've jailbroke your phone install app back up for jailbroken applications. Hope this helps.

Or just google APN error iPhone?

Are you running a normal non jailbroken iPhone 3G on what network?
