I read online form a 2007 article that applecare is not available for iphone users in Connecticut.

Is this still the case for the 3G iphone in the year 2009?

Anyone from CT here who have applecare for their iphone?

Any help would be appreciated

You better not drop your iPhone if you are a Connecticut resident. Or Nevada. Or Alabama or Wyoming for that matter.

Faithful Macenstein reader hmmm alerts us that those 4 states have apparently joined together to form the new “AppleCare Axis of Evil“, refusing to allow Apple to offer the new iPhone AppleCare plan to their residents.

From the iPhone AppleCare disclaimer:
Apple is not authorized to sell the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone to residents of Alabama, Connecticut, Nevada, or Wyoming. If you are a resident of Alabama, Connecticut, Nevada, or Wyoming, please do not order the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone. If you submit an order that includes the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone, Apple will remove the item from your order, notify you about the removal, and process the remaining items on your order.

About 3 years ago, Apple and Florida had a little AppleCare spat, resulting in Apple’s inability to sell the plan for its prodcuts in that state. That issue has since been resolved, and currently there seems to be no other states restricting the sale of AppleCare on any other Apple product.

This is worse than the EU saying Microsoft can't bundle IE and WMP with their OS.

Not True!

I do not believe your statement about Connecticut to be true. I recently bought AppleCare for my daughter's iPhone 3G at the Apple Store in Connecticut. I do not think they would sell it to me in state if your allegation was true.

Also, I reviewed the iPhone AppleCare T's&C's on line. The only exception to the standard plan is as follows:
"Connecticut Residents
The expiration date of the Plan will automatically be extended by the period that the Covered
Equipment is in Apple’s custody while being serviced. Resolution of Disputes: Disputes may be
resolved by arbitration. Unresolved disputes or complaints may be mailed, with a copy of this
Plan, to State of Connecticut, Insurance Dept., P.O. Box 816, Hartford, CT 06142-0846, Attn:
Consumer Affairs."

No other mention of "Connecticut" is found in searching the T's&C's.

Thanks for the replies.

I assumed by the old date of the article that it was not true anymore. Maybe it took CT and the other states a couple extra months to approve of the applecare.

Thanks, just picked up applecare for my iPhone on ebay for $25. Check it out on there lots of good bargains.
