Hey all,

I have an iPhone 3G and just today, my phone randomly shuts down on me even though the battery icon was full. I thought it was weird that the battery icon wasn't going down as I browsed the app store etc. I've searched the forums here and it looks like a few others have experienced this, is there a fix?

I did the home+power button to reset it but is there anything else I can try?

No one? :(

I drained the battery last night after resetting it and had it run pandora for 12 hours (yeah it last that long, over night... on mute). So it finally shut off and then I plug it in and the huge battery icon (from the home menu) shows a 50% charge after 2 minutes of being plugged in.... which makes no sense. Ugh.

I guess I should try restoring and backing it up in iTunes?

I'd try a restore now, then maybe try draining the battery then charging a few more times. If you're having problems with the battery after that then I suggest booking yourself an appointment with a genius. :)
