so i have broken my dock connector on my 3g today. dont ask me how i did it i have no idea but when i went to take it off the charger i noticed that it was completely dead and that the 30 pin connector was broken off into the usb cord. to make it even worse i noticed that my water sensor was kinda red (the one by the charger port) i have never dropped my phone into water or any type of liquid for that matter. i do take my phone into a steamy bathroom every now and again. i set up an appointment with the genius bar first thing tomorrow morning. i am in hopes that they will replace my phone. what do you think apple will do?

The water damage will pretty much void any chance of getting a replacement but you could get lucky.

i understand that kinda but i promise ive never droped my phone in any liquid and ive seen people come in with ipods that had water damage and once they complained and vowed to never purchase another apple product they replaced it for em. heck i even seen one guy that had water damage to his iphone come in and demand to speak to the manager and he had his replaced also so im gonna say my prayers and wont take no for an answer because like i said i know ive never caused liquid damage to it.

You can promise anyone all you want. Unfortunately, and I understand this sucks, but your water sensor is red. Apple could be a douche about this or not. I take my phone into the bathroom often when I shower. I have no idea what color my sensors are as I've never checked. But Apple rules in this sense ... unfortunately.

ive spent close to fifteen hundred on cell phones from apple in the last year so if they dont replace i will definetly make sure my opinion is known by potential customers before i leave

well just so everyone knows i took it back to the apple store today and they replaced it for me. must of been my lucky day
