hi i need some advice, i know about the part when it comes to jailbreakin and unlocking the iphone 3g, but how am i supposed to get my hands on one , i mean what kinda iphone should i be looking out for....the ones which are already activated at the store? or lets say i got one which is not activated , so can i start up tht phone and jailbreak it tht time itself or do i need to connect it to itunes?? im goin crazy with these questions. ; (

so srry

sry abt tht. well im in San Diego, plz jus help me out here, firstly from where to get the iphone from? , and which one (as in should it be preactivated or something? )

OP, it gets down to what YOU can afford. AT&T or T-Mobile in the San Diego area; if you go to AT&T or the Apple Store you can setup your plan and activate your iPhone at either store. You can take it home and jailbreak at your leisure. The other route would require you to purchase via CL or eB an iPhone that is already JB and Unlocked, then all you have to do is put in your new SIM card.....

hy

3G 8GB is in your price range, if you're lucky; while the 3G 16GB runs for about $350 and up. If you can get something on CL or EB while you are on the West Coast, that would probably be perfect. Most iPhones will be JB/UL by now, but if you need it done, you can go to many of the malls and find someone in their cellphone accessories shop that can accommodate your request.....

sounds gud mate ........(juz bein australian there) ,well i took a look at ones on eb , most of them are like on bids kinda thing. but besides eb wht abt the ones who are selling on craigs?

ok well i guess i`ll jus take a look at EB , but still those ones r goin out for like 300 which is still over my budget....any ideas? thanks

There's several jailbreak tutorials and also unlock tutorials on the internet and yes, the iPhone Dev Team is the most reliable for me. Many of my friends and family were able to do the jailbreak and the unlock without activating their iPhones. I'm currently JB with Purplera1n, but no unlock for me. Still with AT&T....

ohk

oh ok. but yeah i guess u can still try restoring your iphone to a previous version and then try out the ultrasnow program.

hmm

yeh i`ll sure look out for tht, thanks, but right now my first concern is about gettin the iphone :( its such a pain to get the one for thr right price. F.

oh well btw, wht about the applications ? which type of *additional* applications will work on the JB iphone.
