Iphone 3G Cases Cracking?

I had thought i heard reports of the casing on the new iphone 3g was cracking easily. If anyone knows the truth to this please let me know.

Also...i was wondering if anyone knew if getting a black iphone instead of a white one is better as far as defects, scuffs, scratching, etc showing on the phone.

I don't know about cracking, but the back sure does scratch easily.
