ok, i have read several threads that these phones dont suffer from memory effect etc since its a lithium battery.. but one question.. is it ok to charge it to say 70% instead of 100% full charge?

The reason is sometimes I can't wait for it to fully charge and have to run to a meeting. Similarly sometime I dont have time to drain it down to zero before charging it again, but I have read this is not a problem and sometimes can be good for the batery ie. recharge it BEFORE its fully drained. but just unsure about the partial charge

Any advice appreciated TIA :D

Just keep doing what your doing no big deal. Your battery will eventually become weak by design so you either pay apple to change it or buy the iPhone that's out at that time.

It's fine doing what you're doing charging wise.

Only thing I'd add is...
Once a month if you can. Let the battery drain completely and give it a full charge to 100% if you can.
