Hi
I've owned an 8GB 3G from day one and never had any problems - used about half the memory with music, videos and a few apps. I upgraded to 2.2 when it came out and am now having problems when I sync.

What happens is that I plug my iPhone in and it classes everything in the memory - music, videos etc - as 'other' and turns it orange in the iTunes status bar. It then proceeds to copy all my media over again, leaving my iPhone with 2x everything on it.

Does anyone know a way around this please? Am I doing something wrong? The first time this happened I restored my device from scratch but now it's happened again. Getting a bit bored of long restores and would appreciate any advice please!

I had this problem with my original iPhone. Just restore the phone, and you should be good to go.
