I wanted to start this thread cuz I plan on traveling outside the US soon and I am curious. I hear about all these outrageous fees. But, I want to see some real life experiences.

My plan is 1400 min, unlimited txt, unlimited internet with rollover min and 2 iphones on my account for $190. I am with ATT.

When traveling outside of the US you will be using the network of the country you are visiting also know as "roaming".

I don't know AT&T but most operators charges roaming fees on top of your normal plan meaning that your 1400 min. are of no value when outside US.

Roaming is very expensive when I travel to the US with my Danish Iphone AT&T will charge me the following:

Call from US to Denmark (home country) $ 2.16 pr. min.
Call from US to other European countries $ 4.30 pr. min
Calls to a US number $ 1.80 pr. min.
Text messages $ 0.40 regardles of which country they are send to.

Thanks got the info. But what do you pay in YOUR country. The AT&T thing isn't so bad, that's why there is the yellowsnow app, for unlocking..

The standard package that comes with the Iphone in Denmark which is sold by Telia is $ 108 pr. month and includes the following:

Call to all fixed line numbers is free of charge
Call to all Telia cell phones is free of charge
Call to all other mobile numbers 300 free min and then it's $ 0.17 pr min
Text is unlimited
Free data up to 10 GB pr. month
You also get free access to all Telia hotspots in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Edit: The high monthly price is due to the fact that Danish operators by law are limited to a maximum contract of 6 months.
