I am avid iphone fan, and got both original, and 3G iPhone on launch days. It's been what, 3 days since upgrading and I just get the impression that either the new iPhone or software version 2.0 has really made it feel sluggish. For Example when writing an email, the keyboard often has a 2 or 3 second delay after pressing the keys, also when i open the contacts app, i cant scroll up or down for about 4 seconds- its like it's just frozen. Similarly loading up the SMS app takes about 5 seconds before any of my messages are displayed.

I have 4 gig of space still available and only have about 6 extra apps installed. It is completely unaltered software- haven't run any sort of jailbreak/hack.

i just want to know if i'm the only one that has noticed this??

This has happened to me, but its not consistent. I know what you're talking about b/c it's happened for like a minute, then it goes back to running smoothly. Is yours laggy like this constantly?

Some bits are, like the SMS app loading times, and other bits are infrequent, like the slow keyboard responses. It's really odd, but i just don't remember feeling it with original iPhone.

I picked up a 3G on Friday and it's my first iPhone but from what little time I have spent with the first gen it does feel pretty slow to me.

I'm also going to chime in and say overall the software is sluggish. When I wake my phone, i never see the slide to unlock actually move. I do it with my finger, and by the time it graphically moves, i get to my home screen.

SMS is slow
Keyboard at different times is slow
Push email works part time

Not what most people would expect from Apple software.

mke and the oc
also the cam

i agree with all the points of sluggishness. opening apps, using the keyboard...

i also want to include the camera. takes a long time to appear to "snap" a pic, then a while to save before u can "snap" another one. the cam even screwed up once to a point that it took the pic in separate frames.

I've noticed that it is somewhat sluggish at times as well. Mainly in the contacts.

Having said that, I never owned an iphone or ipod touch so I had nothing to compare it to. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is relatively easy to fix, and I'm sure Apple is working on the next update to address this as we speak.
