I had my previous iphone sync to my MBP, worked great, I was able to play the music from it if I wanted etc. I upgraded today to the 3g, had successful syncs, but I am not able to play the music or videos that are on it...what gives? I must be missing something here, I did tell it to clear all the information on the phone when getting home from activation, and use the mbp as it source for music etc....I also re-authorized the computer. Could someone give me some insight and help please?

Just so you know people are reading and mulling over this:

I'd recommend restoring the phone from your main computer. In my experience, the problem you described only happens when the computer it is being synced with is not the original comp that the iPhone was synced on.

Try the restore, and then we'll go from there. Post back to us.

I'm having the same problem. I activated it on my computer at work yesterday, then I took it home and synced it here, asked me if I wanted to sync it here instead of my other computer and I clicked yes. It re-synced and everything.

Also if i uncheck sync says it will remove all my content! What's up with that, I never had to sync my iPod Touch.

I guess I will try restoring it!
