Hello everyone, i have a strange problem with my recently bought iPhone 3G in Brazil using TIM. The iPhone is not unlocked and is jailbroken running FW 2.2.

Sometimes, when I go to a place where there is no network coverage (either voice or data) and stay there for some time (hours), then I go back to a place where the coverage is complete (voice and data, even 3G) my iPhone does not show any data indicator (3G, E or dot for GPRS) and does not connect to anything (the location has data coverage).

This problem persists until I do a reboot on the phone, then everything works.

I tried putting it in airplane mode on and then off, turning the wi-fi on and then off but the data is not shown. I also tried a restore but this persists.

Is this a known issue or should I contact my operator because it might be a problem with the phone?

Thanks,

Carlos

Well, you could contact your operator but, if you are unlocked on a unsupported carrier, they don't support the iPhone, so they couldn't really help. If you called the original carrier (I believe Vivo or Claro) they probably wouldn't help because you are on a different network, even if you didn't mention you were unlocked on TIM.

I bought it on a TIM store. Tim already sells iPhones in Brazil.

I didnt unlocked it, its just jailbroken.

Thanks
