Hi guys.... I managed to jailbreak and unlock a second hand iphone 3G which i got off ebay. I noticed that when I call someone or receive a call I have there is no sound going out from the Ear speaker. I have to switch it to loudspeaker to hear something. Im not sure if it worked before the jailbreak because I couldn't make a call whilst the phone is locked. Btw with music, videos etc the sound works pretty fine but for those kind of things the ear speaker isn't used i guess. With earbuds there is sound when calling someone also. I wish to fix this but I don't know where to begin. Is there a way to check if its a software problem or some kind of hardware failure?

Thats an issue with your speaker , i can repair stuff like this but you should first try and restore it to its original settings so that its not unlocked and take it to apple , sometimes they dont ask for an att sim.

I will try to restore it using itunes but how can I check if the speaker works when the phone is restored, since it will be locked? And how much would that cost me to fix it? do you think its a problem with the speaker itself or the flex cable?
