Is anyone else's iPhone not playing purchased music or movies? I can play MP3s and Ripped CDs just fine, but when playing purchased music, the progress "dot" moves but there's no sound.

Also, when playing movies, i get a dialog box that says "Movie cannot be played"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance =)

same problem

Hi there,
Im experiencing the same problem on my Iphone 1.0.
I think it might be something to do with the Simplify application which when i set it up has found all the songs from my pc except the ones that have been purchased. And for some bizarre reason, the i pod function will not play purchased things, maybe somehow the application setup has caused this problem.

iSeven, it may be that your iPhone is logged into a different iTunes Store account than the one the music has been purchased from.

Check Apples document here for a possible resolution.

Jimmy Heaven, please read the FAQ here. You need to login to the itunes store using the same account as the one that the songs were purchased through. Unfortunately, it looks as if video is not yet supported by Simplify.

I'm having the same problem with my 16GB iPhone 3g. I fixed "most" of it. If you stick your headphones in, you can hear the music perfectly. While the music is playing, take your headphones out and press play on the screen. It fixed "most" of my songs.

I got the cannot play movie on my first gen. Do a hard reset and if that doesnt work do a restore. And if that doesnt work go to an apple store.
