What is my best option? Ultrasn0w does not work, apparently it doesn't support the baseband I'm on...

Downgrade your baseband with redsnow and then use ultrasnow.

Make sure 3GS was not made after 27th week of 2011 (3rd, 4th and 5th digit of serial number)

My guess is all iphone 3G models can install the ipad bb and then downgrade to the unlockable bb version correct?
