Hi everyone!

I've had my iphone 3g for a few months now, but I haven't been as careful with it as i know i should have (darn it). Anyways, there is no water damage, but there is dents in it from dropping it. My little sister spilled BBQ sauce on the charger slot covering the mic. Everything works, but the only thing isssss that when i talk on the phone, other person that im talking to can barely hear me. They tell me it sounds like im standing 10 feet away from the phone.

Does anyone know if I have to buy a new iphone?
Can i get this repaired?
Where do i take it to, the apple store? or Att? I bought my iphone 3g at at&t when i signed up for it.

Thanks everyone for viewing.

You can buy a new iPhone but it'll be on the expensive side.
If its still under warranty take it back to the Apple store, but if not ask them how much it'll be to fix it.

I don't think ATT will be able to do much due to the fact that its not a technical issue (but definitely try the Apple store).

Given the fact its dented and you spilled stuff on it, the warranty is out the door, so its either getting it repaired and paying for it, or buying a new one.

ATT does not handle any repair or service on the iphone so you're only choice is to take it to apple.

You can ask ATT to buy a new one at the rebated price because your current one won't work. I've heard some varying levels of success with this, the only thing they may require is that you extend your contract. You may also want to wait until July when the new iPhones are purported to be hitting the streets. I mean if you're going to be spending $$, you might as well get the new unit.

thanks for the replys!

Do you know how much the 3g by itself now that the price has dropped to $99 w/ 2 year contract. How much alone?
