Hi all.

Just wondering, if I was to swap a broken (smashed) iPhone 3G Screen with a screen from another iPhone 3G, would it work just fine?

The smashed screen iPhone 3G works i.e. the phone etc, it's just the screen that is smashed.

I have watched videos on youtube and understand how to disassemble the iPhone 3G. Just wanted to know if i'm likely to run into any trouble.

Many thanks

Do you know for sure that it is just the LCD and not the touch panel as well. I think you meant that it is just the LCD when you said:

It would work as long as you replace it properly, which it sounds like you have will. You've done the research that I usually suggest for these types of questions which is watching videos on YouTube. I suggest the videos from PDA Parts.com, here.

I work for a cellphone repair store , and i play with iphone 3g;s all day .

tools we use is a suction cup and a Flathead screwdriver along with a Philips screw driver.

take out the 2 bottom screws
use the suction cup in the middle of the screen to take out the screen, whiggle it and it should come off and you have room to disconnect the wires.
Its very simple actually if you have basic skills.
