Hi, I've searched around the forums and not found anything that exactly fits my problem as I've not tried to jailbrake my phone and it's the 3g.

I was not using my phone at all when I went to go to check it for messages. The screen just had the apple logo as though I had restarted it. even though I had not. I tried to shut it down and it did not respond. Then I tried to force restart it by pushing both the sleep and the home button. It shut off and then immediately return to the apple logo without me doing anything. Then I got the "connect to itunes' screen with the cord and the itunes logo.

So I attempted to restore once. and it just reset itself to the apple logo. I'm in the process of restoring a second time but worry this will not do the trick.

Please let me know if anyone has had success exiting this mode (with as much recovery to their original data as possible). Many thanks,

-worried owner:(

Wirelessly posted (David's Black 16GB iPhone 3G: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)

Shut down your iPhone and connect to iTunes via a USB cord while holing down the home button.

Hope this helps! And do you sync and backup regularly, about a couple times a week at least.

When I do that it still asks me to connect to itunes (which I do). Even while holding down the home button it just asks to restore which I do. and then it restarts and asks to restore with a dated back-up. And then it restarts again and stalls on open apple : (

panicking. . .

What firmware and version of iTunes are you using? DFU mode should work but you may want to perfrom a hard reset ( I dont know how to do it!) this will clear all data on your phone then be able to reload it via iTunes.

Your springboard is stuck,

Springboard loads your home screen and all your icons and apps.

Look iphone springboard or something like that, and follow a tutorial.
