iPhone 3G Tethering on o2

Hi,

I have a phone contract on o2 with the unlimited* data plan. If I enable tethering will I have to pay for it, is it like a separate data set? My iPhone is 3.0 jailbroken and unlocked.

It depends on how you want to tether. If you want to go the official route and simply enable tethering through the iPhone settings then there will be an extra charge.
If you do it unofficially either through an ipcc file or one of the jailbreak apps then there may be a charge if O2 catch you

Have any experiences with it? is there only a chance they'll catch you if you use unusually high amounts of data?

I've been using tethering for ages, through PDAnet originally and now through the bluetooth tethering and o2 have not tried to charge me anything so far... although I do only use it occasionally, think they would notice if suddenly you have huge data volumes..

Yea just use PDAnet.

Just some information, tethering the device is in violation of your contract, and you could face immediate termination with a pay off fee for the remainder of your contract.

doesn't jail breaking violate some of the terms?
