No. AT&T is GSM/UMTS. Sprint is CDMA/EvDO. 2 completely different technologies, the iPhone will not work on Sprint. Anyone who says otherwise is full of crap.

This is correct. You cannot use the iPhone on Verizon, Sprint, Bell Mobility, or Metro PCS (most markets).

AT&T already has a prepaid plan that's not so bad - though it depends on how much you use your phone. Mostly prepaid is for peeps who use it less than average. I have a prepaid deal with Verizon, and its been great but even though it's their old cheapo prepay deal, it's still more expensive than the one AT&T offers. I'd make the switch except when I do I'd get an iPhone and since I can't afford right now, I'll just wait..

The AT&T plan is something like $0.10 per minute, plus $1 a day only on the days you use it. So if you use your phone only a few days a month, it's really pretty cheap.

If the phone is unlocked you can also use T-Mobile prepaid plan. Pretty reasonable you are only charged $ when you use the phone it deducts from you balance. No $1.00 per day fee and once you get to $100 you get bonus time with each purchase plus you minutes don't expire for 1 year.

I think ATT has started the 1 year expiration also but I do not like the $1.00 a day when you use it. Check coverage though. ATT prepaid coverage is better that T-Mobile prepaid coverage. Jsut depends where you go.
