Hey Guys quick question, I have had iphone 2G since launch day 2007 and am going in tomorrow to upgrade and sell my old one to a friend. I was told the total out the door price can be more than the 199/299 price. I was told there could be about 50$ extra on top of the 199/299 price for some subsidy thing. What are your totals for the new iphone 8gb out the door. i am getting confused on pricing, I would assume its just the 199 plus tax so about 220 out the door, am I right? thanks

For me, its $400 for the 8 GB version, since I'm not eligible. But I believe if you do have the hold iPhone, there is some other charge that you have to pay for some upgrade thing. So for you, it would be $200 + $50 + tax (whatever the tax is in your state).

There is an $18 upgrade fee.
