just bought an unlocked iphone 3g. will the 3g allow me to just call up at&t and add the unlimited data plan? i have heard that the iphone 3g doesnt allow you to add unlimited data, only the iphone plan. can anyone please clarify?

i currently am using a samsung blackjack 2 with no data plan.

since i already have my plan with at&t and i dont want to renew because i am out of contract. i am asking if i can simply just put my sim card in the unlocked iphone 3g and tell att that i want the unlimited data plan?

I think it should be ok. You can even tell them you want the iPhone plan. I doubt that a contract would be involved because you didn't purchase an iPhone at the subsidized cost. Hope this is what you were looking for.
