iPhone 3G with O2-Germany and Gevey, anyone?

Does anyone have their iPhone 3G working with O2 in Germany and the Gevey sim card (the latter for unlocking)?

I'd like to hear about any experiences whether or not this combination works.

I brought an iphone3g from the US, it's locked to ATT, and I'd lke to get it working here in Germany. (Yes, it's got baseband 2.30.03).

I'm doing the same, with an iphone from o2 PAYG UK.

With the Gevey, it works with o2 Germany.
