Here we go! The new iPhone complaint of the year. Now that we've got everything we've been asking for, now the OS 'looks old'. Ha! Classic.

I have a jailbroken 3G and can already multitask and create folders. I'm waiting to see what apple does HARDWARE wise before I decide to upgrade or jump ship to the EVO as well.

What a huge kick in the ass to 3G users

Nothing that wasn't expected to be honest mate. My only complaint with the multi-tasking announcement was how it was executed by Jobs ... as in that it was shown off then we were told right at the death it wasn't for 3G users.

However, again, I never expected it to happen with the 3G's specs.

The funny thing is that when I bought my iPhone 3G in September last year, the wife moaned at me wanting to spend the extra £100 on a 3GS. I remember eventually caving in and thinking, "I'm lucky to be getting an iPhone", but also told her that the 3GS would be a better long term investment.

Today, I've been proven right and today Apple killed off the iPhone 3G.

And the other thing I noticed is that the original iPhone didn't even get a mention at all.

I dont see what the big deal is - I have a 3G and I will probably upgrade to the new iPhone or move on to something else if I see something I like - why shouldn't apple give 3G users a reason to "need" the upgrade? They make more $$$ that way and they get people onto the new hardware (better for developers).

I have high hopes for the new iPhone hardware, if they disappoint there then I will complain but OS wise this is a good step. If you don't like the UI jailbreak it and customize.
