I have this iPhone 3GS 8GB which i recently got from craiglist. The phone is 2011 - Week 44 manufactured and has iOS 5.1.1 and baseband 5.16.05
I need to know if can jailbreak this phone ?
From what i read at few places the chances are bleak to none but would appreciate if experts here can throw some light on that.
Something related to new bootrom ?

Just do not try and flash the iPad baseband to your phone, doing so will kill your phone

Ok so i can jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1.1 the same way we jailbreak iPhone 4 and 4S on 5.1.1 using Absinthe 2.0.x ??
I find absinthe method easier than Redsn0w so i want to use that.
The old / new bootrom and all is irrelevant right ?

Sorry if sounds dumb but i just want to clarify everything before i jailbreak.
