The hole at the bottom looks like it leads to an external antenna port. I can't see well enough through the hole next to the volume rocker to make out what that might be.

EDIT: When you follow the links, what do you know: more pictures. ;) BOTH appear to be antenna ports or test leads of some sort (they appear to be identical in shape).
 
Sonofabitch ... there was rumours of this when I was going to buy my 8GB 3G on PAYG in September 09, but I went ahead because Apple only changed the iPhone in July.

Ah well, that's tech for you.
 
I thought i read somewhere on here that the 8gb 3gS had a different model #. The one in the pics have the current model #.

Apple store in Vietnam doesn't show any iphones so this would be there 1st! again like another thread if Iphones aren't made in Vietnam why should they have them 1st there! ;)
