My dad bought the new iPhone launch weekend and the mail has worked just fine until last night. From his Road Runner email address (POP server) he can receive mail but not send it. Now he also just got a new MacBook Pro a couple of days ago and the troubles seemed to had started when he synced the two. Any help please?

Check the outgoing mail server settings. What are they?

The outgoing mail server is smtp-server.columbus.rr.com (same as computers and iPods) with SSL turned off (same as computers and iPods). I'm pretty sure that the password is right.

Does it work on the computer?

If so, delete it from the iPhone, then sync it back via iTunes.

I feel so stupid, I just had to do into one of the settings and I just had to enter his username and it started to work. I was comparing his mail settings to the ones on my iPod touch and noticed this. :)
