IPhone 3Gs battery

Could it be possible that with the new 3.0 os that the actual battery reporting is wrong? Has anybody done a voltage test?

I don't understand what you mean. Voltage test? I don't think a simple voltage test is going to tell you the state of charge of your battery more accurately than the sophisticated circuitry in the iPhone. If you are experiencing problems with your battery meter, you should run your phone down to automatic shutoff, plug it in, and charge overnight. This will calibrate your battery meter (giving it clear full and empty numbers on which to base its calculations).

If the software in the iPhone is faulty the sophisticated circuitry is useless. If the software that reports the battery from the circuitry is wrong then you need an outside test independant of the iPhone hardware.

there is a know issue with battery life in 3.0

upgrade to 3.1.2 and problem solved.
