Hi,
my iphone 3gs was jailbreaked and now it's bricked... When you turn it on, it shows a pineapple and a steve jobs sayin something in russian. I've tried to un brick it, but when you connnect it to the computer, iTunes doesn't see it. Please help me and excuse me when I make a grammar mistake, I'm not the best in english :)

Relax walk us through what steps you took and what happened What firmware version etc. It is near impossible to brick a iPhone unless it's a hardware issue. Just take a deep breath and do your best to explain.

Well, I actually don't know what happened. My brother jailbreaked it when it was his, then my sister got it and she doesn't know what she did then. I only know that when it goes on, you see instead of the apple logo, a pineapple and a Steve Jobs cartoon with his hands in the air saying something in russian. The computer doesn't see the iphone, so I can't reset it or something like that..

Ah yes, your phone is not actually bricked per se, but rather it is what we in the community refer to as “pineappled”. This is a fairly rare occurrence, but does happen from time to time. The old 3GS models were especially prone to pineappling, and it was a big problem a few years back.

There are perhaps a dozen or so threads on the issue, so I recommend searching the forum to find them. I never had a 3GS so the pineappling problem never affected me, but I believe it is the result of a corrupt plist file at the root level of the Poales directory.

The solution is a little tricky, but some quality developers seeded a sweet fix not too long after the pineapple first sprang up. You might have to hack through the jungle of the forum archives, but once you read up on it you’ll feel right at home and won’t be living under the sea anymore.
