iPhone 3GS cracked LCD (Help)

Hey guys,

I got my phone out last night and noticed a crack in my screen right across from one corner to another.

I hadn't dropped the phone or even banged it which is what's confusing me because I've had an iPhone since the first gen and know how much force an iPhone can take before breaking. I don't even understand how the glass isn't cracked.

Just wondered if it's something that's covered under warrente?

Warranty won't cover it and it costs $199 to fix from Apple.

You could try to replace it yourself. There are loads of tutorials online and its pretty easy.

If it's a single crack, without any signs of a point of impact, it /may/ be repaired under warranty I believe, as a manufacturing fault in the glass.

It's certainly worth taking in and seeing.

Thank you fir your advice. There isn't a scratch or bump anywhere on my phone other than internally.
