iPhone 3GS freezing

so i have restored my iphone several times, everytime after a phone call or anything it freezes with the top status bar disappearing, then i have to restart the phone and then everything works.
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
i have been having this phone freeze on me to, and i can't think of any other reasons to why it would be doing this!!
the phone hasn't been dropped, i am using mobileme and exchange but still, shouldn't be freezing on me. non jb phone to!!

any help?

If you have restored via iTunes as a new phone (do not set up from backup) and it is still doing it, the only solution is to visit Apple or send it to them depending on Canadas policy.

yeah i have set it up as a new phone
very frustrating
battery life however is staying good, even though i reset it like 5 times day!

i have made an appointment at the apple store today, i even have apple care, so just wanted to post a thread here and see what ppl were saying
