Just wanted to know if anyone has actually managed to install the http://repo.siriport.ru Siri port onto their iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.

I tried but my springboard crashes and goes into safe mode every time I try to activate Siri. Also, there is no mic on the Siri screen during the few seconds it appears. :(

All of the attempts at porting Siri to unsupported devices have not worked easily or well. If you want Siri you might as well buy an iPod Touch because it's never going to work correctly on a device that doesn't have native support.

It works great on my iOS 5.1.1 iPod Touch 4 with iModSiri. Plus, I know for a fact they are working on a port for iOS 6 and is reportedly in the final stages of testing. Check @sirizone on twitter for all the info.

3GS just doesn't have the power to run Siri effectively. Not worth the hassle. Believe me, I had Siri on my old 3GS.

Voice Answer

If you would like an alternative to Siri on your iPhone 3GS, try out Voice Answer. Not only does this work on any of the iOS devices, but it also introduces a 3D robot to assist you. No jailbreak required either. Check out voiceanswer.com.
