iPhone 3GS + OS 3.1 + Apple Bluetooth Dock = Doesn't Work

I had the original iPhone and the Apple Buetooth dock. When I got my 3GS, I dremeled the bluetooth dock so the 3GS would fit into it. Now, since upgrading to iTunes 9 and OS 3.1 I'm getting the "This accessory is not made to work with the iPhone" when using the Bluetooth dock. So, it looks like Apple took away the Bluetooth dock from working with the 3GS?

Mine works. I have gotten that message randomly before. If it happens every time you put it in, try a reboot of the phone.
