Hello, i got my iphone in quite the mess... just got it yesterday and seeing i'm a update freak i wanted to have the last jailbreakable firmware on it...it came with 3.1.3 searched the web and decided to upgrade to 4.3.3 , got the original IPSW got tinyumbrella to fake apples server and i hit a wall...the damn 1600 error so i got ireb and put it in pwned DFU ...updated to 4.3.3 but only got a black screen at the end. i'v tried so many fixes since then ...nothing worked . i finally snapped and said ok ..fk jailbreak lets go to the last version from apple....guess what error 1600-1601( even with IREB) found somewhere on the web that u can downgrade from 4.3.3 to 3.1.3 ...gave it a shot the phone finally awoke( it installed 3.1.3 gave me error 1015 but still the blackscreen lingers) ...now if i try to update it with a custom 4.1 the screen goes white and then error 28
can anyone give me a hand? i dont have any data on the iphone and dont rly care what version it ends up with...just want it to work

Well you phone sound bad mate. But what you need to do is download the original firmware for the version your phone is on.
Put it in recovery mode and plug it into itunes and restore.
Then you will be good to start over

for anyone that finds this post ... it was solved by doing a hard reset ...aka i took out the battery( if your phone is out of warranty , its a pretty easy step if your careful)

Yesterday I had a very annoying problem with my Iphone 3G. Suddenly when trying to get it out of its standby mode it shortly lighted up and froze. Just plain dead. I couldn't get it to respond anymore. If you get the same problem, then follow these points. Connect the Iphone to your computer. Make a backup of everything on the Iphone., Press Power and the "square"-button at the same time. Hold them pressed more than 4 seconds. Make a restore. All this helps you to avoid 3G problems.:)
