ok, so its been bout 4days now, Ive stopped receiving reception in areas I used to get full bar of 3G connection, but now i get "no service" or just erratic reception. it'll go to edge or no service or just simply not receive reception. I used to get clear reception in my house and at work, but now i get "no service" whenever i step into buildings and even in my car.

anyone having problems like this? or does anyone have any clue what this means? is this caused by jailbreaking and unlocking your phone? im just really puzzled, if this is att stupid issues with their cell tower or apple

Have you tried a hardboot? Hold the Home Button and the On/Off Button down at the same time and hold until it shuts itself down and restarts itself. Sometimes we NEVER turn the iPhone off, and AT&T/T-Mobile recommends that you turn it off/on a couple of times a month....

I would turn airplaine mode off and right back on quickly.

For some reason I have to do that at work where I get PERFECT full bar 3g coverage.

Didn't make sense but it seems to work.

I wasn't saying that doing that gets me perfect reception that already happens due to the towers in the area (one of which I can see right outside the window in the office)

For me it seems to be a bug in the phone if it's restarted etc it will do the same thing his does saying no service or searching. Flicking this on and off quickly seems to allow it to find the network again. Then Im golden.

I find that doing a reboot really increases teh 3G reception on my phone.

yea, by reading the forum response here, ive tried everything from reboot to turning airplane mode on/off and even had the sim card switched out by att. with no good results. there was one occasion where i left my phone in the car in a 100degree weather, and im sure the inside of the car was well over a 100, so i was wondering if it could have damaged the antenna/signal receiver on the phone. or something.

Yeah, just like water, heat can damage the iPhone. Do you recall any heat warnings?

no, but it was in a very high heat location, even though i left my phone inside the arm rest glove box, it was pretty hot inside that car. well over 100degrees. and it was after that, that i started having erratic signal reception and having no signal inside buildings, car or just places that should have full signal
