So today, a bit strange situation or better say story. All normal, no scratches, nothing. Today I played a game and locked the Iphone and I started to clean the screen with cloth for glasses (the silk). After 10 sec i see some dust that it is not going away. I tried to squeeze it stronger, with the finger as a rub, but nothing. I thought maybe it is a dead pixel, I locked the iphone, but again it is there. After work, I was paying parking and I was in direct sunlight, then i realized that i have more of these dots, but smaller. I was like: "WTF?" I came home and closed all the windows to be in dark and i tried to see now the "white dots" but nothing. Then i turned lights on and you can barely see the dots under one angle. Again I put it on the sun, and you can clear see these dots. I clean the iphone all day long, it is not the software. I never dropped it, never put it on the table turned to the touch or nothing. In my pocket Iphone's screen is facing toward my leg so i don't run in some edge of the wall or something like that and damage my screen. In the pocket there is nothing except the silk cloth for cleaning.

So now I don't know what it is, how this dots are created and how to get rid of them?

So no scratches, the dead pixel is not, is not dirt. What is then? When you look as if it was broken off a small piece of glass (similar to this, but it is not). Dunno how to explain it... If someone has some advice I am paying beer :)

Thanks.

P.S. I have Iphone 3GS, 1 week old. It was standing 2 days in my house, so i am using it for 5 days and no problem until today.

white Dots

In too noticed a blemish on my 3g screen that would not come off. I wouldn't call it a Dot, but like a tiny smudge I couldn't clean. It was not on the LCD it was on the glass, but on the inside surface. I removed the glass and looked at the spot with 100x magnifier. The spot was from some sort of corrosive that splashed on it, probably during the mgf process. It appeared as though it had dried and turned white making it visible. It did clean off, but the class is etched where the spot was. Since cleaning it, it is no longer visible and has not returned. Keep in mind I could only see the details of it with a 100x scope. The other thing to keep in mind is that unless you're in a very dust free environment, it is very difficult to avoid dust or smudges on the inside glass surface or the LCD. It took me about 6 attempts to clean both surfaces sufficiently before closing.

Ok if this would help it makes "rainbow" colors on a very bright color (like when surfing macrumors). It is a verry little one dot but how this happened? I watched all the scratches videos and they say that the Iphone is very proof...

Those white specs are dust particles. The iPhone is not a closed case and is vulnerable to these. I had them in my 2g and 3g...so far not in my 3GS. They are a pain, but can be fixed at the Apple store. I had other issues with the earlier two phones (restarting for no reasons) so they just replaced them with refurbished phones. But they can remove the glass and clean it for you. Every time it happened to my phones was right after an innocent drop, nothing major. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.
