Ok i unlocked an iphone 3gs today with greenpoison, then opened cydia and downloaded the redsnow source, when i put a sim card in atnt. It just kept searching i tryd toggling air plane mode, 3g data it still just kept searching.I am running 4.2.1 my modem is 5.15.04.So i jail broke with green poisin then cydia unlock am i missing something? Ih ave done this before dont know why it aint working now.

You mean you've jailbroken it with Greenpois0n and unlocked with Ultrasn0w.
The reason it's not working is because you don't have the iPad baseband installed. Use Redsn0w. That is your only option.

Only way to unlock is by install the ipad baseband.
Then you have to think of the consequences.
You wont be able to upgrade or restore to stock firmware, only custom IPSW's and you will lose your GPS functionality.
