So I got an iPhone 3GS off craigslist. I'm not sure how to check if it has been registered or not, if anyone knows how please explain to me how to do so. Anyway my question is, I know that the phone is still within its 1 year manufacturers warranty because it was released last June. If anything were to go wrong with it and not jailbroken, would apple still repair/replace it even though I am not the original owner, or the registered owner? If I need to be the registered owner, how do I change it and register it in my name if its already registered under the original owner? If anyone could help me out with this it would greatly be appreciated.

From my experience on craigslist, the warranty is transferable to another owner. I bought a 3GS the other day off craigslist and I went to apple to exchange it because of the headphone port problem. The warranty papers from apple show only my name and nobody else's.

What exactly was the problem you were having, with it? Were they able to replace it for you? Repair it atleast if they didn't replace?
