hi everyone ..

well this is the situation, i currently have an iphone 4, with baseband 4.10.1 ios 4.3.3, push does not work im using a gevey ultra, it does make / receive calls / sms and data ..... but push is not working, also if you turn off the phone you need to reprogram the gevey again,

i was reading about SAM unlock in this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1455276/

, i dont remember why but i already installed sam and it says WildcardActivated (through bundle activation).... still i need the gevey or it wont work with my carrier ...

this is my question, i can restore to 4.3.3 with the phone activated, but i want to upgrade to 5.1.1 with same baseband, is there any way to activate / unlock permanently phone with SAM and upgrade basebad (ios 5.1.1).. ???


do i need to first upgrade to 5.1.1 and the use SAM ??

i just want to get rid of gevey because push does not work, still i haven´t tried the clear push on SAM ... :/

im lost ://:confused:


edit: i dont mind if its not jailbroken just want to unlock + upgrade to ios 5+ without losing basebad 4.10.1

The SAM route for unlocking was closed 6 months ago

SAM can still be used to fix push issues.

Restore to 5.1.1 can only be done if you have full blobs by stitching to a NO_BB 5.1.1 IPSW with redsn0w and preserve your BB.

Iclarified.com had tutorials on that

cant fix push using sam...... cant find the iclarified tutorial on this, i just want to fix push

thnx for the reply, i already went that road, i was told by another member that SAM activation was closed six months ago, but... i still can fix the push notifications..


right now i have SAM installed, wildcard activated, iTunes has the iccid of the current sim card that im using (gevey ultra + sim) ...


whats the next step ??

de-activate iphone ?? already did that via SAM and itunes didnt care, sync was normal...

pressed the activate button on SAM and still the same .. :/
 
Download ipusher from the itunes store(free) and see if push works

You have blbs for 4.3.3? A restore might fix the problems as well
 
yes, i do have the shsh blobs... but this is whats happening...


whenever i do a stock restore 4.3.3 cant access the phone with out activating it, since i dont have the original sim i had to pre-activate it using redsn0w....


im a little bit new to this... is there a way that you can guide me .... what i understood is that i need to restore stock 4.3.3 w/o activating it, but at that moment when i try to activate it, it wont let me even use the gevey as activation....

im using it in telcel - mexico, i already searched if it can be unlocked via imei... no service is available :/
 
lets say i dont want to jailbreak...


you're sayin that i need to

1) restore stock
2) put movistar carrier unactivated sim
3) connect to itunes
4)disconnect
4) unlock with gevey ???

SAM unlocks are closed (what you were told)
SAM deactivation and fix for push issues still works
 
but... ok, will try again,

deactivate with SAM, spoof sim, connect to itunes right ??
 
spoofed real sim to sam... backed up activation.... deactivated ... cleared push... restored activation.. rebooted... synched... working now :D
:)

edit: most of the apps that im trying to install require ios 5 :/
